Writer in Residence Programme (February 2019)

 Writer in Residence: Naghmeh Samini

Dr Naghmeh Samini, the Iranian playwright, scriptwriter and theatre scholar, is the current writer in residence at the school of modern languages. Her residency began on 28th January and will end on 24th February. As part of her residency, she is writing a play in English in cooperation with Dr Saeed Talajooy. The play which is in progress will have twenty episodes and will be finished by the end of her residency.  Dr Samini and Dr Talajooy will have a play reading workshop on 20th February (details below). Dr Samini is also running a number of workshops on screenplay writing (details below).

Four volunteers will be doing the play reading and Dr Samini and Dr Talajooy will discuss the play. Dr Samini will also be speaking about her experience as a Writer in Residence in the School of Modern Languages and the potential directions the ending of the play may take.
